OPI LIQUID SAND 'THE IMPOSSIBLE' (LIMITED EDITION MARIAH CAREY) REVIEW

Whenever I think about Mariah Carey, the first thing that comes into my mind is DIVA. So its really no surprise that OPI gives her a line that's called "Liquid Sand". This is a new variant from OPI which I believe would be coming out more in their collections.

PROSTYLE FUWARIE END CURLING MIST REVIEW

Korea Post #3: (Must-See Places!) Nami Island

ll be sharing about our trip to Nami Island, which is located outside of Seoul. We had to take a train (different from the subway system, sorry but I forgot the place where we took this, but its the nearest train station from Myeongdong).

MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH and BROW COLORIST REVIEW

Having dark brows and light hair has always been a problem for me. I have always tried to put a little hair dye on my brows (which I do NOT recommend for anyone to do because this may cause severe skin irritation OR burn your skin) to lighten them up, but it hasn't worked.

ETUDE HOUSE BUBBLE HAIR COLORING IN SWEET ORANGE REVIEW

I finally tried the Sweet Orange shade of the Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring! Its a brighter shade compared to the Natural Brown, and makes your hair tons lighter.

There's a New Dog in Town...

If you're always frequenting the Shangri-la mall in Edsa (unlike me), I'm sure you know this particular dog:

He's actually a resident bomb sniffing dog for the mall itself:

In the midst of all the black labradors that march along the shiny floors, you'll see this funny-looking pooch walking with the rest of them. And they even dressed him up in a Santa outfit so he'll be coordinated with his handler.

So does he make you feel safe amidst all the recent bombings that occur in the Metro Manila malls?

He sure does!:D He's too cute! Hahahaha!!!

Angel Locsin @ the Emmys

Angel Locsin was nominated for the category of Best Performance by a Female Lead for Lobo in the recent Emmys. She naturally graced the American press with her presence at the red carpet.

What was she wearing to this absolutely epic event? None other than this:

Okay I don't know why she's wearing a medal around her neck. Can someone enlighten me on this? The skirt looks like it's made from straw (you know like the lubid-straw that's used to tie balikbayan boxes) and it looks like she's sprouting tentacles!

Plus, her boob fat's showing:

Boob fat is actually that thing on the side of her boobs. That's what it is. I don't think this is the right neckline for her. She should've gone for the halter or the scoop-neck line. The dress makes her look fat! Am I the only one who sees this?

Her make-up was flawless though, snaps has to go to her make-up artist.

I guess she just made a statement, and that is: Filipinos aren't really known for their killer fashion sense.

CBCP Announces that December 8 is NOT a holiday for Catholic Schools

So I was greeted today with the news on our school bulletin board (go figure where I study, I give out enough clues as it is) that the CBCP has apparently declared that December 8, or the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is NOT a holiday for Catholic schools.

First of all, I was very very disappointed. We law students take the chance of every holiday that comes around to have the opportunity to get a bit of rest AND catch up on our readings. Second, isn't the Immaculate Conception a holy day of obligation for all Catholics? The reason it became a holiday was to let the majority population of the Philippines go to church and honor Mother Mary.

All my life I have studied in a Catholic school. This is the 1st time the CBCP has declared it to be a non-holiday just because of the many holidays we have been experiencing. Listen CBCP, it's ONE DAY, not an entire week.

Mangadudatu Massacre: Death Toll Rises to 39

This just scary and way violent. Let's please pray for all the victims of this tragedy.

It was reported yesterday that a brutal massacre occurred in Maguindanao, wherein around 40 people were beheaded, mutilated and killed all belonging to the Mangadudatu clan.

The wife of Esmael Mangadudatu, was on the way to file the nomination of Esmael, her husband, to contest the governorship of Maguindanao against Datu Andal Ampatuan, the head of a powerful local family.

The dead bodies has already risen to 39, so far only 4 have survived the attack.

The southern Philippines is riven by clan rivalries, including one between the Mangudadatus and the Ampatuans. Many politicians and elected officials in the region maintain well-equipped private armies.

Ampatuan has been elected governor of Maguindanao three times previously, always unopposed, although he resigned from the post earlier this year, apparently to circumvent term limits on elected officials.

One of his sons is the governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, an area which covers six provinces.

None of the Ampatuans made any coment to local or foreign media.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo condemned the violence and ordered her top security officials to "personally oversee military action" against those behind the killings.

"No effort will be spared to bring justice to the victims and hold the perpetrators accountable to the full limit of the law," she said in a statement. "Civilised society has no place for this kind of violence."

Mathematical Equations with Krista Ranillo

So I was thinking of a topic to write about in my next post, and naturally my friend suggested the brou-haha over the Manny Pacquiao-Krista Ranillo controversy.

I think that my fellow bloggers have said enough over the matter and think it's high time we figure out why Krista Ranillo looks so damn familiar even if she hasn't been around for long! I finally figured it out last night:

+

Kekekekekeke!!! What do you guys think? Does it add up, or is it a totally wrong equation?

Pacquiao is LEGENDARY.

Manny Pacquiao has succeeded in making history yet again. The pound for pound king defeated Miguel Cotto earlier today for the WBO Welterweight title.

So proud of this guy who has made his country proud by doing what he is best at. To all the haters, go awaaaaay! (this is directed to that dude who was complaining about Pacquiao's cover in the Time magazine about not being "significant" enough)

Cotto deserves a warm applause for being a fighter until the end, and for being humble even in defeat.

Tomorrow should be a national holiday.

Korean Cultural Festival!

On November 19-27, the Korean Embassy will be hosting a Korean Cultural Festival (perfect for all Koreans living here [who consist about 1/3 of the population in Makati alone] and for those who are Korean at heart) to celebrate the 60 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Korea.
The festival will feature Korean food, dance, arts, music and theater! The event will start with  a "Taste Korea!" Food Festival at Edsa Shangri-la Plaza from Nov. 19-23. It will feature a cooking demonstration of popular Korean dishes, an exhibition of Korean agricultural products like Korean tea, and a presentation of Korean cookbooks and fine selections of special pots, pans, and dishes. Visitors will get a chance to eat samples of Korean food like japchae, kimchi, and bibimbap. On November 25, the National Dance Company of Korea will present "Dance of Chun-Hyang," which will feature traditional Korean dances. Samulnori, a genre of percussion music that originates from Korea, will be presented on November 26 by the Noreum-Machi troupe. Both musical events will start at 8 p.m., at the CCP.

Finally, there will be a Philippines-Korea Friendship Parade along Roxas Boulevard in Manila will start at 10 a.m. on November 27. More than a dozen floats and thousands of marchers will demonstrate Korean customs and tradition. The free K-pop concert takes place on the same day, featuring the famous boy band SHINEE whose song "Ring Ding Dong" is number 1 across all music charts in Korea. You can catch them at 3 p.m. at the CCP.
Their song is actually being played in MYX right now aside from other K-pop videos such as 2ne1, Rain and Big Bang! Watch the video here:

Manny Pacquiao on Jimmy Kimmel Live: You Know It's the Manny!

I was surprised when I received tweets saying that Manny Pacquiao was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last November 4. There were a lot of Pinoys in the audience! Ultimate Pinoy Pride! Anyway here's the video of his appearance on the show:

The question about Pac-man was funny. Hahaha!

I loved it when Jimmy Kimmel said that Manny is coming into the fight with Cotto in a very humbled way, that he's not going around saying, "Imma beat some Cotto, call me the Mexi-cutioner!!!" (ok that last part I made it up.)

And of course, Manny charms the audience with singing 'Sometimes When We Touch'!

(Awkward huuug)

The fight against Cotto is set on Nov. 14.

My ending message will be in a form of a video also featuring a Pacquiao Halloween special:

Elianto Miracle Multiplex BB Cream Review

BB Cream stands for 'Blemish-Balm Cream', and it has been attributed to be the secret to the Koreans' pearly white clear skin. So many people have been asking me about this (I guess they assume since I like K-pop I naturally know about their skin secrets?), but I have yet to try them, until today!
I first encountered a BB Cream when my friend Lamb told me about that The Face Shop finally had one, but she hated hers because it made her look like a ghost. I tried swatching it out for myself but I also did not like the shade.
But now I went to Elianto and found out that theirs is actually available in 3 shades (Soft beige, nude beige, and warm beige)! Pretty handy because not all Filipinas come in stark-white form. So I tried it out for myself, and decided to buy myself one, just to test out if the BB cream craze is really true.

It's available in 2 kinds, the Miracle White Multiplex BB Cream and the Miracle Multiplex BB Cream (it's just that the former has the word WHITE in it, while the latter doesn't, let's just call them gold and green). The basic difference between the 2 is that the gold is for women 25 and up, because of its anti-wrinkle and firming properties while the green one is for 18-25 (not suitable for minors!), and has oil control and brightening features. The SPF of the gold is also higher at 45 and the green is only at 25.

I tried the green out (since I am 22), and here's how it looks on my face:
I honestly feel that my webcam does not give the product justice because when I look in the mirror, most of my blemishes are gone. The coverage is pretty light though, and gives off a nice sheen. The oil control isn't that much, I think I still need to apply blotting powder.
What to expect:
Do not expect that this will be give you a matte, full-on coverage. I wear foundation everyday because my skin sucks without it, and I think this is a nice solution for anyone looking for something they can use daily. Don't forget to test it out on yourself before buying. I thought it was pretty expensive (PHP699), especially because I recently bought a  more expensive foundation. It's scented, which might turn some people off, but I like how it smells. Therefore, smell first before buying!

Other words of advice (how to use it wisely)!:
Squeeze the tube upwards instead of downwards for less product wastage. The tube is very squeezable so if you do it downwards a lot of excess product comes out. Use your fingers for placing the product on your face instead of a brush. Dab some on your hand first before placing on your face. Smooth out everything with your foundation brush/sponge. (the pictures are BACKWARDS! Will fix this later ugh)
Whoops, sorry for the extremely long entry, I wanted to give a full review for BB Creams because this is my 1st time using one.:)
