OPI LIQUID SAND 'THE IMPOSSIBLE' (LIMITED EDITION MARIAH CAREY) REVIEW

Whenever I think about Mariah Carey, the first thing that comes into my mind is DIVA. So its really no surprise that OPI gives her a line that's called "Liquid Sand". This is a new variant from OPI which I believe would be coming out more in their collections.

PROSTYLE FUWARIE END CURLING MIST REVIEW

Korea Post #3: (Must-See Places!) Nami Island

ll be sharing about our trip to Nami Island, which is located outside of Seoul. We had to take a train (different from the subway system, sorry but I forgot the place where we took this, but its the nearest train station from Myeongdong).

MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH and BROW COLORIST REVIEW

Having dark brows and light hair has always been a problem for me. I have always tried to put a little hair dye on my brows (which I do NOT recommend for anyone to do because this may cause severe skin irritation OR burn your skin) to lighten them up, but it hasn't worked.

ETUDE HOUSE BUBBLE HAIR COLORING IN SWEET ORANGE REVIEW

I finally tried the Sweet Orange shade of the Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring! Its a brighter shade compared to the Natural Brown, and makes your hair tons lighter.

CLIO Diamond Rose HD Two Way Cake SPF 40 PA++ Review

This review has long been overdue, but I took my time in evaluating this one because it has come to be one of my favorite products--ever!

What CLIO says:
It perfect coverage to your skin. This unique formulation includes finely micronized diamond and emolient powder, which softens skin by keeping moisturizing factors. Moisturizer supply moisturizing and firming effect on your skin.

Let's pretend we understand that, shall we? Kidding aside, the product boasts to have diamonds, finely micronized that is. I love this foundation because when you buy it, you get a refill immediately! So its like getting 2 powders for the price of 1. This cost me $22.45 (without shipping) so its definitely worth it.
The 2 sponges--both for powder or foundation is included.

The coverage is also great--although the powder puff is okay, I like to maximize its use by using a square sponge. Just soak the sponge first then apply to your face.  Its actually a two-way cake because you can use it wet and dry--wet if you want to use it like a foundation, or dry if its just for touch-ups or for light coverage.

I'm not sure if you can spot it, but the left side covers up more of my bluish veins than the right side. The powder is available in 3 shades, #13 in Light Beige, #21 in Natural Beige, and #23 in Medium Beige. The shade I got is #23 in Medium Beige.

I also find the packaging so pretty! CLIO really takes effort in packaging their products and its total eye-candy to whip it out and start touching up. There's a nice pattern pressed to the powder:

CLIO Diamond Rose HD Two Way Cake with SPF 40 PA++ is available at GMarket through seller jnv for only $22.45.

AVON Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation + Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow Review

Just look at these make-up! I won it all as a prize from Nikki of AskMeWhats, one of my favorite bloggers around! They all come from Avon and I was so happy to receive them because I have been wanting to try their line since forever but had no idea how to choose the right shades and stuff because you have to buy it from a catalogue.

Was I happy when I got this package in the mail?
Hell YES!!!

So this post starts my backlog, and I'll be starting with the first 2 items on the left, which is the Avon Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation and the Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow.

First up is the Avon Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation:
What AVON says:
Formulated with PreciseLight Technology.** For continuous balance, adds moisture or absorbs oil wherever needed. Natural satin smooth finish. Featherlight medium coverage.
**PRECISELIGHT TECHNOLOGY has innovative light-adjusting pigments, making your skin look natural wherever you are.
So here's how the bottle looks inside:
Definitely not a big fan of this narrow-mouth glass packaging. Its hard to control the amount of foundation that comes out of the bottle. What I did was I would turn the bottle upside down, then get the contents from the inside of the lid so I don't waste the product.

The shade that I was given is NATURAL, which is actually close to my actual skintone:
The foundation has a lightweight feel, and you cannot find any heavy coverage. It gave me a dewy complexion, which I think is okay if you have dry skin. I have super oily skin so I don't use this a lot. It was pretty okay for me.
I think its available in 2 other shades.

Next up is the AVON Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow:
I have to say I loved this one! As I've said before, I'm not a fan of mineral make-up because it usually means its not pigmented. But this eyeshadow is really really nice, and I love this even if it takes more care to apply it than regular eyeshadow, due to the fall-outs that occur when you brush it on.

The shade that I got is Mocha Goddess.

What AVON says:
Superfine powder pigments blend like a dream. Use one or layer, go sheer or smoky. Whisper-soft, air-light. Natural radiance, pure luxury.

I have to say though, I'm also not a fan of the packaging because its sometimes hard to twist the brush out of the bottle:

But the brush is very nice, it doesn't feel scratchy and helps glide on your eyeshadow to your lid!

I use this by dusting it on to my lid first: (pretend that my hand is my lid), then I smooth it all over with the added brush.

Here's the look I came up with using only this eyeshadow and just added some pencil eyeliner to complete it:
Sorry if its so blurry! But I'm sure you can see that the shadow is very shimmery. What I love most about the eyeshadow is that it has a range of colors--its not just a drab brown, it has a nice copper finish over the brown.

Also, the color is so pigmented! You have to be careful in getting the amount of shadow you desire, since the brush is submerged in the powder, its bound to contain a lot. So give the brush a little shake before you apply it directly on your eye. Or apply a little, smooth it over with a clean finger, then just add more if you want.

Reviews on the lipsticks and the lipliner coming tomorrow!
This post officially ends my blogging hiatus, happy summer everyone!!! How's the cold weather treating you?:D (Wasn't that an ironic statement? Hahaha!)

October Make-Up Haul!

Someone is going to totally kill me for spending too much on make-up recently. But don't I deserve every little bit of happiness???
1) Laneige Snow Crystal Duo Foundation
I finally bought it! The woman was trying to convince me to buy the oil-free one instead, but my mind was already made up before she even said anything. It has a nice, dewy finish which is great for everyday use, not too matte but has great coverage.
Before you buy this, remember to tell the woman to apply it first on your face. Not just your jawline, but your whole face! You just test the color swatch on your jawline then when you've picked the right shade for you, ask her to apply it. Check the coverage and finish afterwards. Then don't buy the product yet! Walk a few minutes around the mall or wherever to see how it looks like after it sets. If you're still satisfied, go buy! I honestly recommend doing this to every foundation you buy. Don't be shy to ask the saleslady and test it out first because you have to remember that you will pay good money for a good foundation.
Anyway its a "duo" foundation because it has a concealer inside!

I think this is a good buy because you're getting 2 products in one. Plus it's the same shade as your foundation so it will be easier to coordinate the 2 shades.
The packaging: So cute, it has a snowflake design! (Bad bad pictures I know, my digicam cannot be found)
The inside of the box is PINK!
And the dispenser:The pump dispenser really saves you the product use and isn't prone to wastage. Really convenient!
It has a MANUAL inside! This is the first time I've ever seen a manual inside a make-up product. Don't forget to read this before using it!
So so cool, the things Koreans think about in putting into their product.
Plus all the freebies I got from Laneige from their different cleansing products:
I think you're only suppose to receive 2 samples, but the woman was so guilt-stricken because she promised me a free lipgloss for every PHP1,000 worth of products you buy. Unfortunately they were out of stock for that freebie, so I got many samples instead.
The foundation is pretty expensive, it's PHP1,800, but because of the pump dispenser, it would take me a year or so before I finish this. The price is a foundation AND a concealer, so it's a great buy!

2) In2it Extra-long Lasting Liquid Eyeliner
If you read my Aug-Sept make-up haul entry, I made a review on one of their liquid liners. I wanted to add that that specific liner made me nuts because the end tip lost its ink after a few weeks of use. Only the side parts of the pen remained in good working condition! How frustrating is that?! I tried putting on my eyeliner using the pen sideways but it was just hopeless.
So I bought another one, and since I'm a fan of cheap liners, I still went with In2it, getting their EXTRA LONG LASTING liner (I think this line was meant for me), since my ultimate problem is that my liner disappears during the day.
I wanted to do a sample swatch for you guys but I don't have a digicam with me right now so I wasn't able to. But it's on my eye right now and I've tried smudging it and everything, it still hasn't moved! I guess I'll only be able to do a test on how extra long lasting it is by tomorrow, but hopefully this thing will be better!
Costs PHP322.50 in Landmark, since there was an on-going Beauty Fair.

For next month, I've been wanting to buy the Coffret D'Or Combient Rouge 03, which is a nice orange-y color (not exactly the one on the picture on the right, but that's the product). I've tried it already and it looks nice, it has 2 ends, 1 is a matte lip stick while the other is a shiny lipgloss and you can either use it both at the same time, or separately.
It costs around PHP1300, so I'm still thinking about buying it or not.
Anyway that's it for this month's make-up haul! I should really put a lid on this make-up addiction...
