OPI LIQUID SAND 'THE IMPOSSIBLE' (LIMITED EDITION MARIAH CAREY) REVIEW

Whenever I think about Mariah Carey, the first thing that comes into my mind is DIVA. So its really no surprise that OPI gives her a line that's called "Liquid Sand". This is a new variant from OPI which I believe would be coming out more in their collections.

PROSTYLE FUWARIE END CURLING MIST REVIEW

I've been looking for an inexpensive heat protectant product, and luckily I stumbled upon the Prostyle Fuwarie End Curling Mist while strolling around Beauty Bar!

Korea Post #3: (Must-See Places!) Nami Island

ll be sharing about our trip to Nami Island, which is located outside of Seoul. We had to take a train (different from the subway system, sorry but I forgot the place where we took this, but its the nearest train station from Myeongdong).

MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH and BROW COLORIST REVIEW

Having dark brows and light hair has always been a problem for me. I have always tried to put a little hair dye on my brows (which I do NOT recommend for anyone to do because this may cause severe skin irritation OR burn your skin) to lighten them up, but it hasn't worked.

ETUDE HOUSE BUBBLE HAIR COLORING IN SWEET ORANGE REVIEW

I finally tried the Sweet Orange shade of the Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring! Its a brighter shade compared to the Natural Brown, and makes your hair tons lighter.

Urban Decay's NAKED 2 Palette Review

I know there are have been plenty of reviews out there regarding this palette. But really, what's one more rave, right? Just goes to how wonderful this palette really is!

I got Urban Decay's NAKED 2 palette as a graduation present from my aunt. I was so excited to open it up, it was all sturdy and shiny in its packaging! The palette also has gorgeous colors which prove that neutrals are not boring.

What Urban Decay says:

You demanded it--more NAKED shades to obsess over. This latest collection of twelve never-boring neutrals (5 of them NEW!) in matte, shimmer and glitter textures expands your range of sultry looks.

The NAKED 2 palette comes with a double-ended full size Crease & Shadow Brush, which is very handy.

The Shadow brush end is a nice flat brush with soft bristles. Its very handy in applying color directly to the lids.

The Crease end was very fluffy, love using this to blend all the colors together.

The palette also comes with a Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked. Its a lip plumper and has a cooling effect when applied to the lips.

The shade is a pinky neutral, perfect for pairing with those smokey eyes you can create with this palette!

Let's get on with the palette! Its encased in a thick brown casing, feels sturdy and not too bulky. The casing is still slim enough to be brought on trips, but I doubt you can bring this along with your everyday make-up bag.

The shades range in different textures: there are matte, shimmer and glitter. There are 12 colors all in all,  and there is a lot of product in each container. The shades are also highly pigmented, a definite plus!

Out of the first 6 shades, Foxy is my favorite as a brow highlighter. I use it all the time. Chopper and Snakebite are also tops for just swiping on and going. I usually wear both these shades on their own.

On this side, my faves are Suspect and Busted. I combine them together for a more subdued smokey eye you can wear for work.

The shades are creamy and don't crease. You can also build up the intensity of the colors for the sheerer shades.

The NAKED 2 Palette is a must-own for anyone who loves neutrals. Its also perfect for the working person, since you can use a range of colors that are work-appropriate and don't have to go crazy. The neutrals are also versatile for any look you're going for.

I got my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette from Sephora, which retails for only $50.00, but there are a lot of online sellers out there who have this one available in the Philippines!

Majolica Majorca Lash & Brow Colorist Review

Having dark brows and light hair has always been a problem for me. I have always tried to put a little hair dye on my brows (which I do NOT recommend for anyone to do because this may cause severe skin irritation OR burn your skin) to lighten them up, but it hasn't worked.

I've also gone the eyebrow pencil route but couldn't seem to make them look natural! Thank God I stumbled upon the Majolica Majorca Lash & Brow Colorist in BR333.

What Majolica Majorca says:

A new item to color both brows and lashes.
Soften and lighten up coloring for both eyebrows and lashes! Match your hair color or makeup. Doesn't clump and achieves a fluffy finish waterproof resist sweat, sebum, and tear. Contains Vitamin E and Macadamia nuts oil.
This waterproof formula is resistant to sweat, sebum and tears.
[To use.]
- Use as Brow colorist and mascara.
- Use Majolica Majorica Eyes Reset Gel or an oil-based eye makeup remover to remove. Do not rub to remove. Instead, thoroughly work the remover into your lashes and wipe off gently.
As Brow colorist
Take up an optimal amount with the brush and apply in the direction of hair growth.
As Mascara
Move the brush in a sideways, zigzag motion, working from the base of the lashes and pushing up to get the mascara all the way to the ends.
Use the tip of the brush when applying mascara to the inner and outer corners of the eyes, as well as the lashes.

Here's the closer look at the nice details of the product:

The brush looks like your typical mascara wand. BR333 (Vanilla Brown) is the lighter of 2 shades available, the other being BR555 (Maroon Brown). The latter is a darker, a bit reddish brown while the former, which I have, is a lighter blonde-ish shade.

The far-apart bristles makes it easier to brush it on to your brows. Remember though, this just colors your hair, and doesn't groom it. So make sure your brows are groomed well when applying!

I really love this product and recommend it to everyone! I love the lightening effect, and the shade of my hair and brows aren't mismatched anymore.

I also love the consistency of the formula. I've been using this for over 3 months and it hasn't dried up (as compared to other mascara formulas) and can still be applied easily as if you've bought it brand new. Since I have full brows, I don't need need to fill in the sparse areas anymore and just use this.

It also looks very natural, and you don't have to pay a hefty price to color your brows. I say its definitely a winner!

Majolica Majorca Lash & Brow Colorist is available in SM Department Stores or Watsons for only P595.00!

IN2IT Waterproof Gel Liner Review

As all of you know, I am always on the look-out for cheaper but effective eyeliners as I cannot live without them. Recently I have been spending a small fortune on MAC's Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved, which costs around P800 a piece. Now this can get rather expensive if you're an avid eye pencil user like me, as I usually use a liner pencil when I'm lazy to do eye make-up and do a standard smokey eye. I use up eyeliner pencils very quickly, and this was what prompted me to hunt down a new brand to use.

Here comes the IN2IT Waterproof Gel Liner in Very Black to the rescue! I've been seeing this around malls and I thought of giving it a try!

What IN2IT says:
A smooth and soft gel liner, that glides onto the skin. The pencil shape gives balance making it easier to hold and apply. Quick drying, waterproof, and super long wearing. No running, no smudging, no 'panda eyes', no fragrance. Easy to apply and remove.
One of the things I love about the product is that it comes with its own sharpener!

Sorry for the blurry photos, I don't know what was up with me that day, I just couldn't take good photos at all!

The pencil is very soft when you use it against your eye, even when you sharpen the tip it still remains its softness. But it always creates a thick line, so if you want a thinner line, you have to position the pencil well.

I also like the pencil because its best for tight lining the lower lash line. It doesn't hurt at all and my eyes are quite sensitive--or maybe they're used to being lined? I really don't know!

I tried to smudge it while it was drying, and it only moved a little bit. I wanted to test what would happen if I rub my eyes.

I like the creaminess of the formula and how thick the line comes out that you only need one stroke and you already have the desired color you want. It also doesn't smudge nor comes off with water, so you need an eye make-up remover for this one.

I'm currently eyeing the Aztec Gold version of this eyeliner because it looks super cool!:D

The IN2IT Waterproof Gel Liner is available in most department stores in SM or PCX for only P375.00.

24H K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Eyeliner Review

Hello everyone! I am in a very good mood today, as I have finally gotten my new wonderful Macbook Pro into fully functional mode (read: installed Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop), and so I thought it was about time for me to update my blog!

So recently my third eyeliner pen ran out and I was in dire need of a new one to use. I mean I didn't want to go all the way to Korea just to get my fix (addict much?) or have one shipped and face humongous Customs charges. Thankfully, Beauty Bar started having the 24H K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Eyeliner in their stores.

It took me awhile to find some in stock, I had to wait 2 weeks for the nearest branch to have one in SUPER BLACK. Its also available in DARK BROWN. If you read my blog, you'll know how OBSESSED I am with eyeliners. I cannot leave home without a line across the lid!

This specific eyeliner has been touted by many bloggers are their HG eyeliner. K-Palette is a make-up brand from Japan. I know a lot of reviews have been made here in the Philippines ever since this came out, but here are my thoughts if this IS really a 1-DAY tattoo:

What K-Palette says:
This quick drying waterproof liquid eyeliner comes with a patented micro-fiber fine brush tip for superb control and ease in drawing. High water resistant polymer creates long lasting and non-smudge eyeliner that withstands water, sweat and skin sebum.
Holy grail eyeliner of make up gurus and top selling eyeliner in Japan!

The eyeliner's pen feels like the CLIO's Kill Black: has a felt-tip texture and the pen is very easy to hold. But the brush is a bit soft, those who aren't used to pen liners might have a harder time controlling it.

Since the eyeliner is being re-distributed by Beauty Bar, it thankfully has English instructions at the back:
1. Shake the pen a few times with the tip facing down before use for a more vivid color.
2. Keep cap tightly closed after use to prevent the brush from contamination and drying.
3. Insert brush into the center of the cap when recapping. Denting it against the cap may cause the brush to lose its unique shape.
4. Leaving the pen in an upright position for a long period of time may cause the color to become lighter. Leave the pen on its side or with the tip facing downwards.
5. Use soap and water to remove. NO eye make up remover needed!
6. Not for inner eye lining.
7. In the even of an allergic reaction, stop using immediately.
I highlighted numbers 1 and 7 because these are the most important instructions for me.

Remember to shake the pen vigorously and more than ten times if you want VIVID color to come out. I have to say I was initially disappointed with the eyeliner at first because I thought this was the darkest it could be. I mean it said SUPER BLACK, so I was expecting it to be darker.

But the problem can be solved by more shaking! Now I'm definitely satisfied with the shade of black that comes out of the pen.

I love how quickly the eyeliner gets removed by just water! No need for doses of eye make-up remover just to get all the product out.

Despite being removable by mere water, the eyeliner stays true to its promise: it holds on for ONE DAY! I even tried sleeping with it (do not do this, I just did it to test if it does hold on), and it didn't come off.

NOTE: This shade was the initial one that came out because I didn't shake the pen enough. Just shake more and it gets darker!

I also love the fact that the eyeliner was fast drying. No need to keep your eyes closed for sometime after you apply. When you also make mistakes, you can easily remove it by using a cotton bud.

I do have super oily lids and it did not deter the product from lightening up during the day. I am so pleased with this purchase! Its a very nice alternative to the CLIO Kill Black (which still remains to be my HG), and I will be definitely buying one again if I run out.

The 24H K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Eyeliner in Super Black is available in any Beauty Bar branch all over Metro Manila for only P895.

GMarket Dreams: Product I've Been Stalking

I wanted to take this time to post about a product I've been coveting during my GMarket hiatus. This hiatus has lasted for more than a year and I definitely think its high time I order something new for my favorite online shop and fulfill my online shopping dreams. Unfortunately whenever I try to go to their homepage, for some reason I chicken out and choose not to do it! I'm still finding the courage to buy another item again but I'm afraid I'll go crazy and bankrupt myself! (well not really to that extreme but you know how it is.)

Anyway HERE is the product I've been lusting over: the CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Gel/Pencil Liner.

As you all know, I've ranked CLIO's Kill Black liner as my HG of all pen liners. It has been my best friend each day I needed to vamp up my lids. But the problem was, I've already gone through 3 Kill Blacks--I go through it like gravy!!!

When I saw these, I thought maybe this can be a solution to how I quickly finish my eyeliner.

Plus the colors are totally gorgeous! I don't want just one color, I want all eight!

Isn't your mouth watering right now? If you love eyeliners as much as I do, I bet you are liking what you're seeing now!

Plus CLIO promises that the panda-eyes problem is not present with their product! I also love how they show you a tutorial of what you can do with their different colors.

The eyeliners aren't cheap, each costs $8.87 (9,900w) . I only wish the people from CLIO can hear my prayer of getting my hands on them. Anyway if you have purchased this product and have tried it out for yourself, please do let me know your experience!

But soon I will be buying these as a set. Probably at the end of March--can't wait!!!:D

The CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Gel/Pencil Liner can be purchased online at GMarket through this seller.

Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder Review

I haven't tried a new eyeshadow palette for some time, but an opportunity presented itself when the Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder was given to me as a gift for my birthday!

The palette is a wee bit smaller than your palm, but there is a lot of product in this one.

The shadows are not extremely pigmented, but color can be built by layering the shadows. I like how smooth they are when applied. I especially love the second shade from the left, because it can be used everyday. Actually the whole palette can be used everyday. Although the shadows look pretty shimmery in their cases, it only reflects a lot of light when applied.

The palette has instructions on how to apply each shadow at the back, and I did the look for my first try:

1) Apply the olive green shadow all over your lid, while leaving your inner corners bare:

2) Take the white shadow on the lower right of the palette and apply it on the inner corners of your eye. Blend the shadow with the green to blur any lines between the two shades. As you can see, the whitish shadow is a bit on the gold side. Extend the white shade to the lower inner lid.

3) Take the upper left beige shadow and apply it on your browbone as a highlight.

4) Using the applicator's narrow end, pat  the pointy tip on the black shadow.

5) Then line your waterline with the black shadow. I smudged it out for a soft look. Also apply some of the black shadow to the upper lashline, from the outside but stopping in the middle.

And now...the finished look:
I just applied 1 coat of mascara in addition to all the shadows.

Here's me wearing the palette the traditional way:
I am so sorry for the wet hair effect, clearly I just got out of the shower when I did the look.
Foundation: Hera HD Founadtion
Lips: Holika Holika Face2Change Dial Gloss
Cheeks: Innisfree Mineral Stick Blush

As you can see, the colors are pretty subtle and you don't really notice the green too much.

The Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder costs P795 and is available in most SM Department stores.

Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner Review

The search for the next perfect liquid eyeliner is on: I've been eyeing this one for quite some time because it looks similar to my HG eyeliner (the much famed Clio Kill Black which I've reviewed here). It has a brush tip and the thickness of the pen is just right. Plus its in pen form!

I have to say that when I swatched this in the store, it turned out fine which is why I still bought it. I must've not followed the instructions correctly because I can't seem to use this now. :((

What Majolica Majorca says:
Deep, dense, bold jet black! Eye line emphasized -- no smudging, no fading. BK 999.
Black base and colored pearl: Shimmering!
For all of you girls who've purchased this, remember to follow these instructions before using:
1. Before using eyeliner for the first time, pull out the pink stopper mounted between the cap and the eyeliner.

2. Press the cap firmly towards the eyeliner completely until there is no gap. (incomplete closure may result in a leak)

3. Shake well with the cap on (THIS IS WHAT I FORGOT TO DO I HATE MYSEEEELF!:(( ). Remove the cap, gently flatten the edge of the felt-type eyeliner, and turn the dial about 10 times (10 clicks) before using it.
BEFORE EVERY SUBSEQUENT USE: Shake well with the cap on, remove the cap, and turn the dial about 1 or 2 times before using it.
*In the event of excessive fluid delivery use tissue paper or similar paper to reduce the amount of fluid.
The tip is a light brush that I didn't have trouble controlling. The liner comes out really wet so when you apply it to your lids, you have to let it dry first for a minute or two before you do any eye movements. I usually end up with streaks on my crease which is why I have my cotton buds ready at all times.

The light ones were the initial swatches I made when I rotated the dial for around two times only, it best to wipe the excess first off your hand, I think. But like I said, I opened it wrong which is why I think I'm paying the price now.

My left eye which I successfully applied the liner to.

And...my right eye which isn't quite as successful as the other one.

It takes a lot of practice to get used to using the Perfect Automatic Liner! Whew!

The Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner is available for around P800 at any SM Department store.

AVON Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation + Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow Review

Just look at these make-up! I won it all as a prize from Nikki of AskMeWhats, one of my favorite bloggers around! They all come from Avon and I was so happy to receive them because I have been wanting to try their line since forever but had no idea how to choose the right shades and stuff because you have to buy it from a catalogue.

Was I happy when I got this package in the mail?
Hell YES!!!

So this post starts my backlog, and I'll be starting with the first 2 items on the left, which is the Avon Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation and the Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow.

First up is the Avon Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation:
What AVON says:
Formulated with PreciseLight Technology.** For continuous balance, adds moisture or absorbs oil wherever needed. Natural satin smooth finish. Featherlight medium coverage.
**PRECISELIGHT TECHNOLOGY has innovative light-adjusting pigments, making your skin look natural wherever you are.
So here's how the bottle looks inside:
Definitely not a big fan of this narrow-mouth glass packaging. Its hard to control the amount of foundation that comes out of the bottle. What I did was I would turn the bottle upside down, then get the contents from the inside of the lid so I don't waste the product.

The shade that I was given is NATURAL, which is actually close to my actual skintone:
The foundation has a lightweight feel, and you cannot find any heavy coverage. It gave me a dewy complexion, which I think is okay if you have dry skin. I have super oily skin so I don't use this a lot. It was pretty okay for me.
I think its available in 2 other shades.

Next up is the AVON Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow:
I have to say I loved this one! As I've said before, I'm not a fan of mineral make-up because it usually means its not pigmented. But this eyeshadow is really really nice, and I love this even if it takes more care to apply it than regular eyeshadow, due to the fall-outs that occur when you brush it on.

The shade that I got is Mocha Goddess.

What AVON says:
Superfine powder pigments blend like a dream. Use one or layer, go sheer or smoky. Whisper-soft, air-light. Natural radiance, pure luxury.

I have to say though, I'm also not a fan of the packaging because its sometimes hard to twist the brush out of the bottle:

But the brush is very nice, it doesn't feel scratchy and helps glide on your eyeshadow to your lid!

I use this by dusting it on to my lid first: (pretend that my hand is my lid), then I smooth it all over with the added brush.

Here's the look I came up with using only this eyeshadow and just added some pencil eyeliner to complete it:
Sorry if its so blurry! But I'm sure you can see that the shadow is very shimmery. What I love most about the eyeshadow is that it has a range of colors--its not just a drab brown, it has a nice copper finish over the brown.

Also, the color is so pigmented! You have to be careful in getting the amount of shadow you desire, since the brush is submerged in the powder, its bound to contain a lot. So give the brush a little shake before you apply it directly on your eye. Or apply a little, smooth it over with a clean finger, then just add more if you want.

Reviews on the lipsticks and the lipliner coming tomorrow!
This post officially ends my blogging hiatus, happy summer everyone!!! How's the cold weather treating you?:D (Wasn't that an ironic statement? Hahaha!)
