OPI LIQUID SAND 'THE IMPOSSIBLE' (LIMITED EDITION MARIAH CAREY) REVIEW

Whenever I think about Mariah Carey, the first thing that comes into my mind is DIVA. So its really no surprise that OPI gives her a line that's called "Liquid Sand". This is a new variant from OPI which I believe would be coming out more in their collections.

PROSTYLE FUWARIE END CURLING MIST REVIEW

I've been looking for an inexpensive heat protectant product, and luckily I stumbled upon the Prostyle Fuwarie End Curling Mist while strolling around Beauty Bar!

Korea Post #3: (Must-See Places!) Nami Island

ll be sharing about our trip to Nami Island, which is located outside of Seoul. We had to take a train (different from the subway system, sorry but I forgot the place where we took this, but its the nearest train station from Myeongdong).

MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH and BROW COLORIST REVIEW

Having dark brows and light hair has always been a problem for me. I have always tried to put a little hair dye on my brows (which I do NOT recommend for anyone to do because this may cause severe skin irritation OR burn your skin) to lighten them up, but it hasn't worked.

ETUDE HOUSE BUBBLE HAIR COLORING IN SWEET ORANGE REVIEW

I finally tried the Sweet Orange shade of the Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring! Its a brighter shade compared to the Natural Brown, and makes your hair tons lighter.

Eugene Domingo Delivers in Kimmy Dora

Hilarious. Eugene Domingo was finally given her own starring movie and was not designated as the resident sidekick anymore. Ai-Ai de las Alas can now shiver in her throne because there's a new comedy queen in town!

I highly encourage everyone to watch this movie, it is good for your laugh box. But get someone who's game for slapstick comedy.  You will definitely not be disappointed, nor be bored throughout the entire movie. Watch watch watch and support the Filipino film industry!

Frou Frou Me Now!

I seriously detest online shopping. I really really do. All that waiting and expecting, sometimes your package gets lost in the mail and then you have to spend so many months just to get it. It also really irks me when anyone buys dresses that they can't even fit. Or maybe that's just a personal pet peeve because my body type isn't the ONE SIZE FITS ALL variety.

But you know all that changed when I encountered Frou Frou, owned by Sheena and Hanna whom I've had the pleasure of meeting at the Rockwell Urban Bazaar. Their dresses are ultra-wearable (ask me if you don't know the meaning of this term) and cost less than the usual dresses we see around.

What's great about this is that they're currently having a sale on ALL THEIR ITEMS, from Sept. 3-15, 2009. I encourage you to look through their stuff because I have already bought 2 dresses from them. The girls are really easy to talk to as well as to contact.

My birthday's coming up, so I bought a new dress from them which only costs PHP650:

Sweet Martini dress in Brown (Php820 regular price)

What I love about Frou Frou is that you can fit and try the dresses before buying them in Rada St. in Legaspi Village, Makati. Very convenient!:D

BeScene Fashion Registry with Metro, MEGA, and Preview

Definitely a very delayed post, but forgive me because there were so many pressing things to do!

Powerplant Mall decided that it was finally time to give back to their loyal customers by creating the BeScene Fashion Registry. The first 150 guests who went were given a PowerStyle card, good for freebies and discounts in certain stores.

The event was celebrated by having the top 3 fashion magazines (Metro, MEGA, and Preview) in the Philippines with their stylists choose their favorite items at participating stores. Guests had the chance of winning these if their own wish list was picked at the end of the night.

Me and "Lamb" together with our other friend "Baconator" (not in this picture obviously) were able to go to both MEGA's and Preview's top picks.:D Had a lot of fun going around the stores and looking at all the nice things! Sadly none of us won the raffle, but it was a good experience, nonetheless.

KATY PERRY LIVE IN MANILA!

Yes, KATY PERRY is coming to MANILA on Oct. 3, 2009 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. She'll be having her concert with Boys Like Girls (oh who cares about them my concern is only for Katy Perry).

Tickets cost:

PhP 3,605.00 - VIP
PhP 2,266.00 - GOLD
PhP 1,236.00 - SILVER
PhP 412.00 - BRONZE

Might be saving up my funds to get myself into the VIP section. But it's a free standing concert so I suggest you just head on over to MOA and listen to her music if you're not exactly high on funds right now.

I have to say I love love looove this girl because of her funky, up-beat songs especially 'Waking Up in Vegas'. Gotta love that song and that video.

Presidentiable #3: ERAP, TATAKBO ULIT?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I remember seeing this ad and thinking how nutty Erap is, actually consenting to something like this. And then it suddenly hit me, like a pile of bricks that he is seriously thinking about running again.

Sure enough, yesterday the newspaper comes blaring out with the heading that ERAP IS 99.9% SURE THAT HE IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. Is this guy insane? I have no idea. Do not let me get into the constitutional issues that abound this thing, because I bet it will all just go in circles.

Has everyone already forgotten the perjury raps? Can 1 ad cure everything that has happened in the past? During his presidency?

Hopefully not.

But I have to admit, Erap's face on 0:33 was one big HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

My thoughts on Mar Roxas' stepping down and allowing Noynoy to run as President soon. Still collecting whatever is left of my sanity. One thing's for sure though, I am definitely not voting Noynoy for President.

Great great finds @ Rockwell Urban Bazaar

I have to admit I was a doubter. But last Aug.28, 2009, I became a believer!!!

I entirely blame my friend whom I shall hide behind the name "Lamb", because she was the one who persuaded me to go inside the Rockwell Urban Bazaar. I went in with little expectations, trying to keep in mind that I already spent a hundred buckaroos on the entrance alone and would only buy an item if and only if I really really wanted it.

But wow once I got inside, I spotted great great stuff that are definitely worth sharing on my blog:

1) Frou Frou's Rockstar Bomb (PHP650)

Definitely perfect with black leggings (Topshop) and gladiator sandals (Charles and Keith). One thing I always do when shopping for clothes, I make an inventory of everything I can pair it with so I will not buy anything in vain. Looks exactly like the top I was looking for that Dara had on in one of her band's (2ne1) performances:

2) Studded gold buckle belt (PHP600)

You guys might kill me and say that the belt was real pricey, but I thought it was a good bargain because it makes all the outfits I wore pop and is very easy to partner with anything! Most of the belts I see around retails for over a thousand bucks so it was worth it.

My friend Lamb was actually able to buy 3 dresses, 1 skirt, and a necklace all for around PHP3,000. Very very much a bargain, and 2 of those dresses came from Frou Frou, which is now our favorite brand. I actually did not spend as much I wanted because I just bought new shoes the past week, but if I didn't, I would have used up all my resources, tee-hee! Retail therapy has to be the best therapy ever!

Ginebra in a Shot!

Whoever said you couldn't get your daily fix of alcohol in an easy quick-tear foil pack?

Ginebra San Miguel of course will never ever let you get through the day without having your fix. They now introduce us to handy dandy packet. Be careful though, you might mistake it for vinegar and use it as your daily partner for your salted fish.

Good luck to the Blue Eagles on their game against the Green Archers tomorrow!:D

Frupcakes is LOVE!

I have to be honest. I don't like Cupcakes by Sonia. I know everyone raves about that store and what-not, but I dooon't. I think the cupcakes are too dry and are too expensive (also too hyped up).

But do you know what I love? I love FRUPCAKES!

Frupcakes is actually a play on words for fruit cupcakes by Clarissa Banaag (who was my classmate from high school to college), who has built this always fully booked cupcake machine.

What I love about Frupcakes is that you can customize your own according to your taste and she can definitely do any design you choose.

Sooo soooo cute, Disney Princesses' cupcakes!:D

She also does cupcake towers for special occasions such as parties, birthdays, or weddings!

The price of each cupcake is pretty reasonable, it depends on the design you choose like for example you want to have a fondant figure or just icing on top of the cupcake. The cupcakes are soft, and really really yummy! I refuse to get my cupcakes elsewhere. I love her cupcakes so much that I always promote them whenever I can.

My favorite flavors have got to be the Peanut Butter Banana and the Mango Vanilla.

She has also ventured into doing cakes as well!

Check out her website and start ordering delicious cupcakes for you and your loved ones: http://frupcakes.multiply.com

The Battle of the Eye Make-Up Removers

While I was scouring the racks of one of my favorite health and beauty stores (PCX), it suddenly occurred to me that due to my fascination with eye make-up, I have been constantly using up so many bottles of eye make-up removers! It's insane how much I've used in 2 years (gone through 3 bottles go figure). But fact is fact: we have to take care of our skin especially around the eye area so as not to get pre-mature wrinkles. If we wear make-up everyday, we have to take it off the moment we can, with the help of a few tools.
I now present the BATTLE OF THE EYE MAKE-UP REMOVERS! Sorry I couldn't think of a better title for this. Yes, I am aware of how lame that sounds.
I'll be starting from the cheapest thing you can use to the department store ones and let you think for yourself whether having an expensive eye make-up remover makes a difference or not. Also, I use waterproof gel eye-liner which is why I need something that can remove waterproof make-up immediately.
1)  Johnson's Baby Oil
Price: PHP29.50

Description: Cheapest item of the bunch. Yes you can use baby oil to remove your eye make-up. Can be used for other things as well (in other words, multi-functional!)

Like it/Love it? LIKE IT. For the price, the baby oil does the trick. Removes the waterproof mascara plus the eyeliner. I only had to go through it twice with a cotton pad to take everything off. Eye area feels soft after it dries up.
Cons: Feels really oily (duh it's BABY OIL what did I expect) afterwards, but it doesn't sting the eye at all.
2) L'oreal Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover
Price: PHP395.50

Description: Big jump in terms of price from the baby oil, but its a drugstore brand so it must be more affordable. Most recent buy for me, removed everything in one single swipe! I was surprised at how everything came off immediately. It's a pretty big bottle.

Like it/Love it? LOVE IT. Though as compared to the baby oil, this one left my eye area feeling a bit on the dry side, but that can be remedied if you use Pond's cold cream after (which I do).
Cons: Just the dry area comment, but other than that, none!
3) Almay Eye Make-up Remover Pads
Price: around PHP450?

Description: Honestly I have yet to see this anywhere in Manila, but I was able to try it while I was in New Jersey and I loved it!

Like it/Love it? LOVE IT. It's very very handy, no need to use other cotton pads because it has it's own! The pad feels soft, but you might have to swipe a few times around your eye area to remove everything. Oil-free!
Cons: The pads are very thin, which is why you can't exactly use the front and back side of it. You'll use it up within a 2 weeks to a month.
4) Bloom Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover
Price: around PHP1,000

Description: Available in Beauty Bar, I only purchased this because it was 50% OFF so it was only for around PHP450 when I did. The bottle's quite big and looks really girly.

Like it/Love it? Like it. On my first use, it kinda stung my eye. But afterwards it got better. A little goes a long way for this, just put a small amount in your cotton ball and gently press on your eye area.
Cons: Has a tendency to dry up, I don't know why. It's as if it evaporates!
5) Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover
Price: around PHP2,500

Description: Small bottle, looks really classy. Looks something your mom would use!

Like it/Love it? Like it. It removes everything! But I personally would not buy it for the price because it's so small even if it's cheap. But I do encourage everyone to try it because of course, it's still Estee Lauder.
Cons: The product description in their website states that it "[s]weeps away without leaving any oily residue—so you can reapply eye makeup immediately after use." Untrue though, because I have to wait a few minutes to let the residue get absorbed until I can put eye make-up on again.

These 5 eye makeup removers are only a few of those out in the market, of course I haven't tried everything there is to try! All are very very helpful if you want to remove your eye makeup easily without the hassle. But, I think we can all conclude that price does not affect the performance of the product, right?

Sorry for the long entry, this will probably be my last entry before my midterms start on Saturday, so I will be out of the loop for around 2 weeks.:D

Lining Up for Cory

My dad brought me, my sister and my mom along to enter LSGH and view Cory Aquino's remains. At first I was pretty amenable to the idea because I wanted to pay my respects. But when we got there, this was the scene that greeted us:

Seriously this does not look bad at all. But the line wound all the way up to the end of Ortigas Ave. (before crossing EDSA)...people who already had their turn were saying that they lined up for 2 hours just to get inside.

I was impressed though because its amazing how entrepreneurial Pinoys become at the sight of a line (of people, of cars, anything!). These guys were selling Cory/Ninoy shirts. Several others were selling yellow ribbons that you could pin on yourself. Others were selling yellow umbrellas. Amazing.

The woman in front of me apparently bought one of those shirts.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to go inside because we lined up at around 6 pm and we heard that the gates close at 8pm. We only got as far as the fly-over when it started to rain---hard. My dad eventually became tired of our groans of getting splashed about as well as our impending classes the next day that he decided to let us board a bus and quit while we were still outside.

I feel so guilty though, I would've lined up even if it rained if I didn't have classes, but Cory Aquino remains in my prayers.

Sorry for the bad quality of pictures, these were only taken by my cellphone (curse you, Motorola Razr V8!).
