OPI LIQUID SAND 'THE IMPOSSIBLE' (LIMITED EDITION MARIAH CAREY) REVIEW

Whenever I think about Mariah Carey, the first thing that comes into my mind is DIVA. So its really no surprise that OPI gives her a line that's called "Liquid Sand". This is a new variant from OPI which I believe would be coming out more in their collections.

PROSTYLE FUWARIE END CURLING MIST REVIEW

I've been looking for an inexpensive heat protectant product, and luckily I stumbled upon the Prostyle Fuwarie End Curling Mist while strolling around Beauty Bar!

Korea Post #3: (Must-See Places!) Nami Island

ll be sharing about our trip to Nami Island, which is located outside of Seoul. We had to take a train (different from the subway system, sorry but I forgot the place where we took this, but its the nearest train station from Myeongdong).

MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH and BROW COLORIST REVIEW

Having dark brows and light hair has always been a problem for me. I have always tried to put a little hair dye on my brows (which I do NOT recommend for anyone to do because this may cause severe skin irritation OR burn your skin) to lighten them up, but it hasn't worked.

ETUDE HOUSE BUBBLE HAIR COLORING IN SWEET ORANGE REVIEW

I finally tried the Sweet Orange shade of the Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring! Its a brighter shade compared to the Natural Brown, and makes your hair tons lighter.

PT Reviews: Garnier Lightening Peel-Off Mask: Taking It All Off

Hello everyone! It's back to work for me on this blog since it has been declared that there are no classes for ALL LEVELS until Saturday. I've been volunteering in different areas whenever I can and it has been refreshing to see so many young people willing to spend their time helping out their fellowmen instead of jetting off to spend the longest week out of town.:)

Anyway I tried a new face mask today, because I saw this product featured in the Cosmo Beauty Awards. I have to admit I was hesitant to try out any Garnier product because their endorser is KC Concepcion (who irks me to death). Also, I tried their haircolor once and it irritated my eyes so much I was crying in the shower when it was time to rinse it off.

This is called the Garnier Lightening Peel-Off Mask, and it promises you that it shall instantly illuminate your complexion. The package says you can use it for 2 applications and all you have to do is spread a thin layer across your face and wait for around 15 mins until it dries up. Then you remove it, voila! Instant illumination!

I have to say that this mask for me works better than the St. Ives Hydroxy Mask that I used before. I like it's lemon scent and my face visibly brightened up after I used it (I swear it really did!). It caused a bit of itchiness on the left side of my check for a few seconds after I removed it but it's already gone. I look less tired and definitely fresher.

I recommend this mask for everyone because it only costs PHP49.:)

Btw I've found out that you can actually use this for around 6 applications, because you don't need a huge amount of the product to cover your entire face. So it really is super sulit!

Typhoon Ondoy

I wanted to take this time to write an entry in order to thank the Lord for keeping me and my family safe and keeping a roof over our heads during this time of trouble. The entire Metro Manila has been in submerged waters, rescue reliefs have been coursed throughout the day, and still so many are left at the mercy of this natural disaster.

Today the rain did not stop pouring and the water level kept rising outside our house. The water outside my friend's house inside the same village reached past their gate, even beyond their lantern lamps! Thankfully they are safe!

My dad went out at around 10 in the morning to have the car fixed in Marikina. He got stuck right before the San Mateo road on his way home. He only came home at 11pm. What's important is that he's safe here.

We also had to rescue our cousins who lived in the next village because the water entered their house, to the point that the refrigerator was already floating! The water level was already up to the thighs and it's a good thing we were able to get them ahead of time!

We also had to save our cars from the incoming flood and we were able to take them to a safe place.

I know so many Filipinos out there are in worse situations, and please do pray for them. I felt that a miracle happened earlier because after my family prayed the rosary, the rain stopped. Prayers can do so much and is very effective, so please do so...

If you can also spare to give a donation, donate to Red Cross: text RED AMOUNT to 2899 for Globe or 4483 for Smart. Try to donate even for only PHP20.

Also, relief operations at the Ateneo will continue this morning. Volunteers will be welcome at the MVP Center starting 3AM. Please proceed to the MVP Center lobby. Thank you!

My Britney Birthday Cupcakes!

I just wanted to share these lovely photos of my birthday Britney cupcakes that were made especially for me courtesy of my friend Clarissa Banaag of Frupcakes:

These were composed of 3 of my favorite flavors: Mango Vanilla, Banana Chocolate, Peach Choco Chip, Peanut Butter & Banana and Pear Coffee. Aren't they the cutest things you've ever seen! It pained me to eat Britney but she was sooo sooo good!  LOL.

Just in case you didn't know, that's Britney's costume during her Circus tour as well as her Britney logo.

Yes, I turned 22 last September 13!!!:D These were my gift to my friends who came to my party to show them how much I looove love love them.

I'm flooding my blog with posts as of now because I just realized I did not update for over a week!!!

Blotting Oil Out of Your Fez: MAC Blot Pressed Powder

I call this product my little "miracle worker", because it does amazing wonders for me who has extremely oily skin!
My derma used to tell me that having oily skin was a blessing because it means that I would get my share of wrinkles later on than most people would. But that doesn't change the fact that I look extremely shiny in pictures!

I discovered this product when I went to the newly opened MAC in Rockwell together with my friend Lamb. It costs PHP1200, and I bought it as birthday gift for myself because I'm not really a fan of expensive make-up products (although Nars and MAC are the exception to the rule!).

Description of the product says that the powder sets and finishes your face. What absorbs the oil are the key ingredients of Silica and Mica. The color descriptions are somehow misleading though, because my shade was actually Medium-Dark when as you've seen, my skin is fair. Before choosing your color, test it first! Although it comes on sheer and is not noticeable, I'm not that sure what it's effect will be on other skin colors.

What I love about the product is that you can use it for frequent touch-ups during the day and it's not noticeable that you've layered something on--aside from the fact that the oil magically disappears from your T-zone. Believe me, I know, because oil blotting papers do not work on me!

Also, it comes in a nice, professional-looking case that's easy to bring in your handbag. I don't like the powder puff that comes with it, better if you use a brush to apply it on your face.
Fun tip: Did you know that MAC stands for Make-up Art Cosmetics?:)

Eugene Domingo Delivers in Kimmy Dora

Hilarious. Eugene Domingo was finally given her own starring movie and was not designated as the resident sidekick anymore. Ai-Ai de las Alas can now shiver in her throne because there's a new comedy queen in town!

I highly encourage everyone to watch this movie, it is good for your laugh box. But get someone who's game for slapstick comedy.  You will definitely not be disappointed, nor be bored throughout the entire movie. Watch watch watch and support the Filipino film industry!

Frou Frou Me Now!

I seriously detest online shopping. I really really do. All that waiting and expecting, sometimes your package gets lost in the mail and then you have to spend so many months just to get it. It also really irks me when anyone buys dresses that they can't even fit. Or maybe that's just a personal pet peeve because my body type isn't the ONE SIZE FITS ALL variety.

But you know all that changed when I encountered Frou Frou, owned by Sheena and Hanna whom I've had the pleasure of meeting at the Rockwell Urban Bazaar. Their dresses are ultra-wearable (ask me if you don't know the meaning of this term) and cost less than the usual dresses we see around.

What's great about this is that they're currently having a sale on ALL THEIR ITEMS, from Sept. 3-15, 2009. I encourage you to look through their stuff because I have already bought 2 dresses from them. The girls are really easy to talk to as well as to contact.

My birthday's coming up, so I bought a new dress from them which only costs PHP650:

Sweet Martini dress in Brown (Php820 regular price)

What I love about Frou Frou is that you can fit and try the dresses before buying them in Rada St. in Legaspi Village, Makati. Very convenient!:D

BeScene Fashion Registry with Metro, MEGA, and Preview

Definitely a very delayed post, but forgive me because there were so many pressing things to do!

Powerplant Mall decided that it was finally time to give back to their loyal customers by creating the BeScene Fashion Registry. The first 150 guests who went were given a PowerStyle card, good for freebies and discounts in certain stores.

The event was celebrated by having the top 3 fashion magazines (Metro, MEGA, and Preview) in the Philippines with their stylists choose their favorite items at participating stores. Guests had the chance of winning these if their own wish list was picked at the end of the night.

Me and "Lamb" together with our other friend "Baconator" (not in this picture obviously) were able to go to both MEGA's and Preview's top picks.:D Had a lot of fun going around the stores and looking at all the nice things! Sadly none of us won the raffle, but it was a good experience, nonetheless.

KATY PERRY LIVE IN MANILA!

Yes, KATY PERRY is coming to MANILA on Oct. 3, 2009 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. She'll be having her concert with Boys Like Girls (oh who cares about them my concern is only for Katy Perry).

Tickets cost:

PhP 3,605.00 - VIP
PhP 2,266.00 - GOLD
PhP 1,236.00 - SILVER
PhP 412.00 - BRONZE

Might be saving up my funds to get myself into the VIP section. But it's a free standing concert so I suggest you just head on over to MOA and listen to her music if you're not exactly high on funds right now.

I have to say I love love looove this girl because of her funky, up-beat songs especially 'Waking Up in Vegas'. Gotta love that song and that video.

Presidentiable #3: ERAP, TATAKBO ULIT?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I remember seeing this ad and thinking how nutty Erap is, actually consenting to something like this. And then it suddenly hit me, like a pile of bricks that he is seriously thinking about running again.

Sure enough, yesterday the newspaper comes blaring out with the heading that ERAP IS 99.9% SURE THAT HE IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. Is this guy insane? I have no idea. Do not let me get into the constitutional issues that abound this thing, because I bet it will all just go in circles.

Has everyone already forgotten the perjury raps? Can 1 ad cure everything that has happened in the past? During his presidency?

Hopefully not.

But I have to admit, Erap's face on 0:33 was one big HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

My thoughts on Mar Roxas' stepping down and allowing Noynoy to run as President soon. Still collecting whatever is left of my sanity. One thing's for sure though, I am definitely not voting Noynoy for President.

Great great finds @ Rockwell Urban Bazaar

I have to admit I was a doubter. But last Aug.28, 2009, I became a believer!!!

I entirely blame my friend whom I shall hide behind the name "Lamb", because she was the one who persuaded me to go inside the Rockwell Urban Bazaar. I went in with little expectations, trying to keep in mind that I already spent a hundred buckaroos on the entrance alone and would only buy an item if and only if I really really wanted it.

But wow once I got inside, I spotted great great stuff that are definitely worth sharing on my blog:

1) Frou Frou's Rockstar Bomb (PHP650)

Definitely perfect with black leggings (Topshop) and gladiator sandals (Charles and Keith). One thing I always do when shopping for clothes, I make an inventory of everything I can pair it with so I will not buy anything in vain. Looks exactly like the top I was looking for that Dara had on in one of her band's (2ne1) performances:

2) Studded gold buckle belt (PHP600)

You guys might kill me and say that the belt was real pricey, but I thought it was a good bargain because it makes all the outfits I wore pop and is very easy to partner with anything! Most of the belts I see around retails for over a thousand bucks so it was worth it.

My friend Lamb was actually able to buy 3 dresses, 1 skirt, and a necklace all for around PHP3,000. Very very much a bargain, and 2 of those dresses came from Frou Frou, which is now our favorite brand. I actually did not spend as much I wanted because I just bought new shoes the past week, but if I didn't, I would have used up all my resources, tee-hee! Retail therapy has to be the best therapy ever!
